As a father of two young daughters, I know how quickly families change. The expressions and small moments that feel ordinary today become the photographs you value most years from now.

My approach is relaxed and observational. Rather than forcing every moment into a pose, I give families room to be themselves — while still bringing the composition, light, and attention to detail of carefully crafted portraiture.

Based in Thousand Oaks, photographing families across Conejo Valley, Ventura County, Los Angeles, and Santa Barbara.

25 Years Behind the Camera

Before becoming a family photographer, I spent 25 years as a Director of Photography in film and television. Documentary work in particular taught me to observe — to anticipate a moment, recognize an expression, and tell a story without directing what happens in front of the camera.

That's what I bring to families now: the craft of fine art portraiture with the honesty of documentary photography. Genuine expressions, real connections, images that feel unmistakably like your family.
