Have questions about booking a family photography session or school portraits? Below you'll find answers to the most common questions about pricing, locations, what to wear, gallery delivery, sibling photos, and more. If you don't see your question here, please get in touch—I'd be happy to help.

Family Photography

Where are you based?

I'm based in Thousand Oaks, California, and photograph families throughout Conejo Valley, Ventura County, Los Angeles, Malibu, Santa Barbara, and surrounding areas.

What is your photography style?

My style blends documentary storytelling with fine art portraiture. Rather than stiff poses, I focus on genuine connection, authentic moments, and beautiful natural light while providing gentle direction when needed.

How long does a family session last?

Most family sessions last about one hour, giving everyone plenty of time to relax while creating a diverse gallery of images.

What should we wear?

Neutral colors, soft earth tones, and coordinating outfits (rather than matching exactly) photograph beautifully.

What if my children don't cooperate?

Don't worry—it's completely normal! As a father of two young daughters, I understand how unpredictable children can be. My sessions are relaxed, playful, and designed to let kids be themselves. Some of the best photographs happen in between the "perfect" poses.

Can we bring grandparents or extended family?

Absolutely. Extended family sessions are a wonderful way to capture multiple generations together. Just let me know beforehand so we can plan accordingly.

When will we receive our photos?

Your online gallery is typically delivered within 2–3 weeks of your session.

Do you offer prints and albums?

Yes! Your gallery includes access to professional-quality prints, wall art, albums, and keepsakes that are designed to last for generations.

What happens if it rains?

If the weather isn't suitable, we'll simply reschedule your session at no additional charge.

How do I book a session?

Simply click the Book button, complete the form, and I'll get back to you within 24 hours to choose a date and location.

School Photography

What makes your school photography different?

I create natural, timeless portraits that celebrate each child's personality rather than relying on outdated, cookie-cutter school photos. My goal is to produce images that parents genuinely want to display in their homes.

Do you charge schools?

No. There is no cost to the school. Parents purchase photographs directly through their private online galleries.

How do parents order?

Each family receives a secure online gallery where they can view their child's images and purchase only what they love.

Do you photograph siblings together?

Yes! Many schools choose to offer sibling portraits, and I'm happy to photograph siblings together when the school requests this option.

Please note that sibling portraits are delivered as a separate gallery and are not included in each child's individual gallery. Families can view and purchase the sibling gallery independently.

Are your galleries private?

Yes. Every gallery is password protected so only the family has access to their child's images.

How long are galleries available?

Galleries are typically available for several weeks. Ordering early ensures you don't miss the deadline.

What areas do you serve?

I photograph schools throughout Thousand Oaks, Westlake Village, Agoura Hills, Newbury Park, Camarillo, Moorpark, Simi Valley, Ventura County, Los Angeles, and surrounding communities.

Are you insured?

Yes. I carry professional liability insurance, and documentation can be provided to schools upon request.

How do schools book you?

I'd love to learn more about your school. Please reach out through the contact form or email me directly to discuss your needs and available dates.
